Forests cover almost one third of all land on the Earth and provide a wide range of ecosystem services, including converting carbon dioxide into oxygen, helping to regulate our climate, and purifying water. Forests support an estimated 1.6 billion human livelihoods, providing food, fresh water, shelter and other resources.

Nearly half of all known species live in forests, and they contain 80% of the lands’ biodiversity. Forests around the world are under threat from deforestation – but many progressive farmers in sensitive areas are actively seeking solutions to conserve forests while producing livestock, feedstuffs and other products.
